Presented by Ilana Sobo

This beginner’s workshop delves into  the fundamental principles of the ancient healing science of Ayurveda. Originating in India over 5000 years ago,  Ayurveda is a fully holistic healing modality that  places emphasis on how to live in harmony with nature and ourselves. Ayurveda stresses the importance of constitutional wellness, disease prevention and simple tools that help us find balance in every season in any environment. It also encourages sustained wellness through close attention to diet,  herbs, daily ritual, detoxification practices, pranayama, meditation, yoga, and other healing modalities.  Stemming from vedic culture, Ayurveda is the sister science of yoga and is considered the mother medicine on the planet. Ayurveda helps individuals  deeply understand the workings of nature and how these forces influence our own unique nature. Through this understanding, we are given the keys to invite a balanced life of tranquility and harmony in body, mind and consciousness.

In our time together we will explore this ancient science and highlight   simple lifestyle  practices that help bring wellness into your daily life. We will also Take a body-mind quiz to determine your own unique constitution. This class meets online via Zoom.

This class is a pre-requisite for The Practicing Herbalist clinical training program, so if you plan to join us for that, be sure to register for this class!
