The Alchemy of Pleasure & Plants

A Women’s Healing Retreat

March 3-10 2026 Guanacaste Costa Rica

Join us in the heart of Costa Rica for a week of healing, rest, and renewal. Surrounded by the lush landscapes of RΓo Seco, this retreat invites women to connect with the wisdom of plants, the pleasure of presence, and the power of community. Through ceremony, sensory exploration, and hands-on medicine making, we deepen our relationship with the green world and remember healing as art. Our journey culminates in the creation of a personal amulet of healing and protection, a sacred adornment infused with intention and the living spirit of Costa Rica.

YOur New Home away From Home… Welcome to Guanacaste, Costa Rica

Set among the vibrant landscapes of RΓo Seco in Guanacaste, this retreat invites women to gather in circle for a week of healing, rest, and renewal. Guanacaste, often called the cultural soul of Costa Rica, is home to one of the most diverse ecological regions in the world, where tropical dry forest meets the Pacific coastline and medicinal plants grow in abundance.

The land itself is a living apothecary. Towering Guanacaste trees, flowering ceibas, and the herbs and shrubs of the gardens have long been honored for their ability to cleanse, protect, and restore balance. The rhythms of the ocean and forest create a natural container for connection, reflection, and transformation.

This is a space for women to relax and surrender, to let go of what no longer serves, and to allow deep healing to unfold. Every detail is lovingly tended to, including nourishing meals, transportation, and a safe, supportive environment where you are free to rest, repair, and return to your natural rhythm. The container is held with care, allowing each participant to soften into presence and receive the gifts of the land.

Guided by herbalist Lupo Passero, participants are led through ceremony, plant spirit healing, sensory exploration, and hands-on medicine making. Together we listen to plants as teachers, experience their energies through ritual bathing and heart-based communication, and create remedies that honor both body and spirit.

Throughout the retreat, nourishing meals, spacious rest, and the beauty of Costa Rica support our unfolding journey. Each day offers time to deepen in community, explore the wisdom of plants, and remember the sacred pleasure that comes from aligning with nature.

As the week comes to a close, the teachings of the plants, the ocean, and the heart gather into form. Guided by master silversmith Sherri Burch, each woman creates a personal amulet of healing and protection, a symbolic adornment infused with intention, beauty, and the living spirit of Costa Rica.

This retreat is an invitation to awaken your senses, expand your relationship with plants, and reconnect with the healing power that lives both within you and all around you.

Classes/workshops/ceremonies

Throughout the week, participants will experience a rich blend of classes, workshops, and ceremonies that weave together the healing traditions of plant spirit medicine and creative expression. Guided herbal sessions, ocean excursions, ritual bathing, sensory exploration, and hands-on medicine making invite deep connection with the natural world. Daily yoga, nourishing meals, and spacious rest support each woman’s unfolding journey. The retreat culminates in a day of mindful metalsmithing, where participants create a personal amulet of healing and protection to carry home as a symbol of their transformation.

Retreat Flow

Day One: Tuesday March 3: Arrival and Welcome

Our journey begins as we gather at Liberia Airport and travel together to the retreat center at Rio Seco. Once settled into our rooms, there is time to rest and explore the surroundings before we come together for an opening orientation. Here, we will introduce ourselves, set intentions, and begin to create a container of trust and connection that will carry through the week. As evening arrives, we share our first dinner featuring local Costa Rican dishes made with fresh ingredients from nearby farms. The meal is simple, colorful, and nourishing, offering a taste of the region and a warm welcome to the days ahead.

Day Two: Wednesday March 4: Opening Ceremony and Plant Spirit Healing

The morning opens with a shared local breakfast followed by ceremony. Together we create sacred space through candlelight, introductions, altar building, and divination, rooting into the circle that will hold us for the week. After lunch, we enter the world of Plant Spirit Healing. Through teachings on photosynthesis, heart coherence, and the foundations of plant communication, we begin to form a direct relationship with the tropical green world.

Each participant is guided to connect with a plant in the gardens, listening to its wisdom in stillness and presence. Reflections and quiet integration follow before we gather again for a nourishing dinner, closing the day in gratitude and gentle connection.

Day Three: Thursday March 5: Energetic Hygiene and Tropical Plant Allies

After breakfast, we explore the sacred art of energetic hygiene and protection. Through the practices of plant spirit bathing, chakra alignment, and limpia traditions, we learn to release what no longer serves and open to the lightness of renewal. Learning to cleanse and protect ourselves with the wisdom of plants is both healing and essential. Surrounded by the lush flora and vibrant fauna of Rio Seco, we begin to move into deeper relationship with the living intelligence of this land and the spirits that inhabit it. Following lunch and a gentle afternoon break, we deepen our communion with the green world through our sensory awareness and herbal medicine. The day ends with a nourishing dinner and time to rest and integrate.

Day Four: Friday March 6: Ocean Excursion

After breakfast, we set out for a full day by the ocean. The journey takes us to the nearby beaches of Playa Avellanas and Playa Negra, where the Pacific offers space to unwind and reconnect. The day is spent swimming, walking the shoreline, and enjoying lunch by the water. Time at the beach invites both rest and renewal before we return to Rio Seco in the late afternoon, refreshed and sun-warmed from the sea.

Day Five: Sunday March 8: Medicine for Pleasure and Green Breath Meditation

After breakfast, we gather to create plant medicines that honor the spirit of pleasure. Through flower essences, hydrosols, and topical preparations, we learn to engage plants as allies for beauty, joy, and healing. After lunch, we enter into Green Breath Meditation, a transformative group practice that bridges breath, plant spirit, and collective energy. After a community dinner, the evening is open for quiet reflection and rest.

Day Six: Monday March 9: Alchemy & Metalsmithing: A Mindful Exploration with Sherri Burch

Join Master Silversmith Sherri Burch for a day of creative transformation through Alchemy & Metalsmithing: A Mindful Exploration. Rooted in the ancient art of alchemy and the practice of mindfulness, this experience invites women to slow down, connect, and create together. Through meditation, intention setting, and hands-on metalsmithing, participants will craft a personal piece of jewelry that embodies their own journey of healing and growth. Each finished piece becomes a meaningful keepsake, symbolizing transformation and the shared power of women coming together in community.
