Help Rebuild Our Classroom & Gardens After Hurricane Helene
Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to Twin Star South, destroying our classroom and severely impacting the land that supports our educational and community work. Because of the generosity of our community, rebuilding is well underway. This fundraiser now supports two ongoing priorities: restoring the spring gardens and continuing the reconstruction of our classroom space.
What Weβve Accomplished
With your support, we have been able to:
Clear and stabilize the damage
Secure a new classroom location and begin rebuilding
Continue herbal education despite the loss of our original space
Offer scholarships to local students
Provide free herbal care and community support through the Appalachian Herb Collective
These contributions have allowed us to remain active and present for our community throughout the recovery process.
Rebuilding the Spring Gardens
The gardens are central to our work. They function as living classrooms, sources of medicine, and spaces for hands-on learning and connection with the land.
This spring, funds are supporting:
Building medicinal gardens and gathering beds
Restoring the landscape after storm damage
Replanting various species of medicinal and teaching herbs
Re-establishing our outdoor learning spaces
Renewing the Twin Star gardens is essential to the long-term sustainability of our programs.
Continuing the Classroom Rebuild
While progress has been made, the classroom rebuild is still in process. Ongoing support helps cover construction, infrastructure, and the costs required to make the space fully functional for in-person education.
Completing this space ensures we can continue teaching, gathering, and serving the community for years to come.
Why Support Is Still Needed
Rebuilding after a disaster is a long-term effort. Continued contributions allow us to:
Complete the classroom rebuild
Fully restore the gardens
Maintain scholarships and community access
Sustain ongoing educational and mutual aid healing work
Every donation directly supports this continued rebuilding.
We are on a roll,
but we are not done yet!
Please consider contributing through the ways below to help us with Phase Three of our Fundraiser.
Twin Star South is more than just a classroom, it is a place of transformation. It is where students immerse themselves in the healing power of plants, where wisdom is passed down through generations, and where people find connection, purpose, and empowerment. Without this space, our ability to provide hands-on education, community workshops, and accessible herbal resources is significantly impacted.
Rebuilding our classroom and gardens is not just about recovering from a storm; it is about ensuring that this knowledge and these traditions continue to thrive. It is about investing in a future where herbal medicine and earth-based teachings remain accessible to all who seek them.

The Impact of Your Support
Community support has always been at the heart of Twin Star Tribe, and thanks to your generosity, we have already been able to make a profound difference. Since the storm, we have allocated over $4,000 in donations to:
Award 11 scholarships to Asheville-based students in our Foundations of Herbalism program, making herbal education more accessible to those directly affected by Helene and who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
We expanded our efforts with the Appalachian Herb Collective, a community initiative that provides free herbal clinics and herbal products to individuals in need. This work ensures that people have access to natural medicine, regardless of financial barriers.
These initiatives are just the beginning. With a new classroom space, we can continue to expand our offerings, host more students, and provide essential herbal education to our beloved community and beyond.
