Return to the Mother

A voyage into the Healing Traditions of Mexico’s Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

Sayulita, Mexico december 7-14th 2026

An immersion into the living traditions of Mexico through flowers, prayer, ocean time, music, herbal medicine, beauty, celebration & community.
Each December, towns throughout Mexico come alive in celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with candlelight processions, roses, devotional song, fireworks, shared meals, dancing, prayer, music, and joyful community gatherings honoring the Divine Mother. Join us in Sayulita for a week devoted to beauty, restoration, celebration, feminine wisdom, and the healing power of being together.

Our Home away From Home… Welcome to Casa Salita

We will be staying at the stunning Casa Salita in the heart of Sayulita. Casa Salita is a newly remodeled home with beautiful architectural design with expansive views overlooking the entire Sayulita Bay, downtown area and distant mountains and is complete with rooftop terrace and pool area. The pool at Casa Salita provides sun and shade and is perfect for cooling down while enjoying the views from the patio and surrounding gardens on the property. Casa Salita is conveniently situated only steps to the main downtown Sayulita plaza and only 3 blocks to the main Sayulita beach and surf break. The rooftop deck at Casa Salita is very spacious with a large dining table, comfortable couches to lounge on and the perfect place to share meals under the pergola to shade from the afternoon sun.

Nestled above the Pacific Ocean, our home in Sayulita will be a sanctuary for restoration, connection, beauty, and rest throughout our week together. Mornings begin slowly with coffee, fruit, ocean air, birdsong, and sunlight pouring through the palms. Days unfold with beach swims, herbal teachings, flowers, prayer, exploration, shared meals, laughter, and time to simply be.

Evenings bring candlelight, music drifting through the streets, rooftop dinners, devotional gatherings, celebration in the plaza, and the vibrant energy of Mexico during one of its most beloved feast days.

This is not a retreat centered around constant activity or productivity. There will be plenty of spaciousness here. Time to wander barefoot through town.

To swim in the ocean. To shop in local markets. To receive bodywork. To nap on the beach. To eat beautiful meals with new friends. To cry when you need to cry. To dance when music fills the streets at night.

Sayulita itself becomes part of the medicine.

The Spirit of This Gathering

This is an invitation to soften into beauty, pleasure, prayer, nourishment, and presence. The Feast of Guadalupe reminds us that healing does not always arrive through intensity.

Sometimes healing arrives through the scent of roses. Through music.
Through ocean air and saltwater.
Through dancing in the plaza.
Through shared meals and candlelight.
Through beauty.
Through friendship.
Through rest.
Through being deeply nourished in body and spirit.

At the heart of this gathering is the remembrance of the feminine as a force of compassion, creativity, tenderness, intuition, nourishment, sensuality, and sacred care.

Together we gather beneath the mantle of the Mother to reconnect with what is soft, alive, instinctual, beautiful, and holy within ourselves.

The Feast of Guadalupe

December 12th marks the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of the most beloved and celebrated holidays in Mexico. Throughout the week, Sayulita comes alive with music, flowers, fireworks, prayer, processions, dancing, feasting, and community celebration.

Together we will respectfully immerse ourselves in these living traditions while honoring the deeper themes of devotion, feminine wisdom, collective healing, and the sacred heart. This is an opportunity not simply to witness Mexican culture, but to participate in it with reverence, openness, and joy.

Throughout the town square there will plenty of activity and ceremonies to participate in! Head to the beach for the day! Los Muertos (Beach of the Dead) is our local favorite! Engage in a plethora of local activities including surf lesson, whale watching and hiking. We are more than happy to assist you in making accommodations as needed. Just ask!

A Rhythm for Our Days

Our days together will balance ritual and rest, depth and delight, spaciousness and celebration.
